Anyone here actually getting a Switch 2?

Seems a bit controversial. I know I don't like the idea of 80$ games and what-not. How 'bout all of you?

Wondering if I should do a "I bought a Switch 2 so you don't have to" video.

I'm over here scoffing at all the people who were scandalized about the pricing, carts that are glorified download codes, weird region locking for Japan, etc. etc. and then they all preordered one immediately.

I'm not interested myself. Maybe in a few years when there's enough stuff out for it and maybe Nintendo gets their head out of their ass like Sony with the PS3. But we'll see.

I knew this would happen the moment people immediately leapt on PS5 Pro preorders. Honestly the price for the machine itself seems fine, but it's the rest that is just... not good. Not in a real rush to get a Switch 2 either way, because my backlog is so big already.

Even aside from my concerns about the key cards and the potentially console-bricking anti-modding measures, there's just really no good reason for me to buy one right now. I've been pretty picky about buying new consoles for a while now - I didn't pick up the original Switch until Smash Ultimate came out, and I still don't own a PS5 because there's literally nothing I want to play on there that isn't also on PS4 or PC. Until the Switch 2 gets some absolute killer app that justifies the price tag for me, not interested.

Yeah I read today that you can have your Switch 2 locked just for having a modded Switch 1!
