I think this and the two previous episodes form a sort of trilogy that establishes what the series is all about. You've got the introduction to the setting and characters, the episode in the future with aliens and camp, and now the episode set in the past with a historial figure and some spooky...

I've said this a lot recently, but for posterity: I think FF13 is terrible not just because it sucks as a play experience, but because it is trying to coast off the Final Fantasy brand while simultaneously being ashamed of being an RPG, which informs a lot of its terrible choices. This makes me...

You made this whole poll of silly options and we got fucking Spongebob instead

I've at least tried every single mainline game in the series except for XI, and I've beaten IV through VIII, which are all great games. I also recently beat Mystic Quest, which wears on you pretty quickly no matter how cool the soundtrack is and how cozy the graphics are. It's a pretty...

I like this one. It's incredibly camp, but the different aliens are fun and Cassandra is pretty legendary. It also does a good job of gradually revealing what exactly happened to the Doctor in-between the old and new series. I really like the moment where Rose gets hit with the realization that...

i aaaaa'd too hard and now my throat has an owie

I'm sure this legendary franchise will eventually leak into multiple threads, but let me start things off: I've been playing the DOOM + DOOM II remaster on Steam, mostly out of convenience--I don't know how well it controls with the mouse, but it's great for casual controller play (especially...

Thanks for the writeups! I don't really keep up with movies anymore so it's nice to have someone to take notes from on what to check out, even if I'm not that big into horror movies most of the time.

Now that's just ridiculous. We need every single episode to be an epic unto itself while constantly alluding to some vaguely-defined threat that absolutely ties it all together, and then in the last ten minutes of the finale it's the fucking Zarbi from the Web Planet and the Doctor immediately...

I have seen series 1 so many times I actually don't need to participate in its rewatch, so I'm going to rely on memories until we get to series 2. :P This was the first episode of Who I ever saw, not because I was there when the show relaunched, but by complete coincidence on a rerun on a...

I'm over here scoffing at all the people who were scandalized about the pricing, carts that are glorified download codes, weird region locking for Japan, etc. etc. and then they all preordered one immediately. I'm not interested myself. Maybe in a few years when there's enough stuff out for it...

what fucking brainworms did RTD get and how did it happen

With rock music no longer being the popular thing for a long time now, I've got a really hard time finding new stuff. A lot of legacy acts won't put anything out for ages or they suck now, and subscribing to rock-related news websites usually just results in getting a lot of "Gene Simmons said a...

That's how I had my setup in college (as you probably remember :P). It worked pretty decently then because I just lived in the one room.

What do you use to play local media files, outside of the corporate bullshit ecosystem of streaming services and whatever disc releases they choose to grace you with? For a long time, I've had one of my PCs act as a file server for my LAN, so I can access videos from other devices, but for lack...

Looks very GOOD NICE JAMMIN'
