Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

On yesterday's jam-packed Nintendo Direct, they revealed a new Fire Emblem game as their blowout last announcement.

Thankfully looking much more like Three Houses than Engage, this is probably what the team behind the former has been cooking up for the past few years. It also seems to take place in the same setting, but the relation is unclear so far with people already debating whether this is a distant prequel or sequel.

Now we can all forget about that other disaster... the only downside is it's going to be exclusive to Switch 2, which means I'm going to need to get one sometime next year. Damn you, Nintendo!!!

Never really been a Fire Emblem fan, but I have watched the entirety of Rosie's Engage playthrough and it's probably in the top ten dumbest stories I've ever seen, so glad this looks to be a step back towards actual decent writing and worldbuilding. Can't really tell too much from the trailer, but fingers crossed it turns out well!

I need to actually play Fire Emblem games before I can act as if my opinions are valid, but just from the reactions online, this game seems to have gotten a degree of fan hype that Engage never really did, and I think that bodes well.
