Back when I was a teenager I created a Sonic the Hedgehog fan site called Jonny's Place. It existed, in one form or another, for fourteen years (with a few short "breaks" dispersed throughout). The community went through several generations of regulars, with many ups-and-downs in terms of how many people you'd see online at a time. We evolved beyond a simple "Sonic Site" to become an all-inclusive gaming forum. I can think of at least three (possibly four) periods of our time together that you could call "the Golden Age of Jonny's Place".
That's not to say it was all fun and games. We were stupid kids, and did a lot of stupid kid shit. Hidden in the archives of my old server hard drive are horrors that make even my skin crawl. Not to mention countless bouts of community drama and broken friendships over petty, pointless shit. Trust me, there's plenty of reasons that JP finally died for good.
So what now?
Despite everything, there's a couple of close friends and relatives of mine that hold fond memories of the 'Place. I made friends there who I've kept up with for almost two decades now! And I suppose after so long in the dark, maybe I've wised up enough to not repeat past mistakes.
So now it's time to make some new ones. Jonny's Place is re-opening to the public on April 6, 2025. You lucky few get to be our test audience while we get everything up and running. Once again, thanks for joining and giving us a shot!

Don't let the name "Jonny's Place" fool you. It's a relic, this isn't and never was a personal website dedicated to myself. Here at JP we're all about collaborative creativity and letting everyone who wants to contribute do so.
